The original Battlestar Galactica television series premiered on the ABC television network on September 17, 1978. One of the most spectacular television programs ever produced, Battlestar Galactica ran only a single season but has retained an active fandom to this day. Later, in 2003, success spawned the re-imagined series.
As seen in both series, Cubits were a form of government-regulated currency used throughout the Twelve Colonies in both the Original Series and Re-imagined Series. Cubits were normally seen in coin form. Frequently, viewers see cubits wagered in pyramid games, usually while Starbuck is playing.
